From Suppression to
Full Self-Expression
The woman who confronted CIOs - and then learned to confront herself.
Speaker Bio
Magenta Freeman | Master Certified Professional Life Coach & Sex Coach
For most of her adult life, Magenta Freeman knew exactly how to hold her ground in rooms built to make her go quiet.
She spent fourteen years as a Senior Project and Program Manager in Finance IT at Bank of America and Wells Fargo - including boots on the ground at Merrill Lynch during the 2008 Too Big to Fail collapse. She sat across tables from CIOs at two of the most powerful financial institutions in the world. She told one to his face that she refused to lie for him. She navigated billion-dollar complexity in rooms designed to make women like her invisible - and she held her ground every time.
From 2021 to 2024, she served as a DEIJ Consultant for Humanity United and Public Welfare Foundation, advising major philanthropic institutions on the power dynamics and equity dimensions of their relationships with grantee communities. She walked into rooms where financial power shaped every conversation - and she named that dynamic out loud, clearly, without apology.
And then she went home. And could not speak her own desires out loud.
That contradiction sat at the center of her life for decades - a woman capable of confronting institutional power with clarity and confidence, who spent years without language for what she needed most in her most intimate relationships. The frameworks that scaffolded her professional courage offered nothing in the vulnerable space where desire lives. And so she stayed silent in the one room where her voice mattered most.
At 58, everything changed.
A profound personal awakening dismantled decades of inherited shame and revealed a freedom she had never given herself permission to claim. That transformation became the foundation of Talking About Intimacy - her coaching practice serving clients across the Research Triangle and beyond, with particular devotion to Black women and intersectional communities that mainstream wellness spaces have historically overlooked, including LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent, disabled, and chronically ill individuals.
Today Magenta works as a Master Certified Professional Life Coach and Sex Coach, bringing her Heart-Mind-Mouth framework to every client and every audience ready to move from suppression into full, authentic self-expression. The framework moves through three stages: the Heart, where shame releases and self-worth takes root; the Mind, where possibility expands beyond the boundaries conditioning has drawn; and the Mouth, where liberation becomes real - spoken out loud, claimed fully, lived completely.
People who know her work say she is like the Sojourner Truth of Sex - an unflinching truth-teller committed to her own liberation and the liberation of all people.
Holding a Bachelor of Arts from NC State University and a Master of Science in Psychology Research from the University of Colorado Denver, Magenta brings both academic grounding and lived testimony to every room she enters. Her story is not a cautionary tale. It is a liberation map - and she gives it freely to every person ready to follow it home.
